How It Works
Seven clear steps to a smarter Valdosta move
Valdosta Tote Rentals is designed to remove the time-consuming cardboard-box errands from a local move. The process begins with a package recommendation and ends when the empty totes and dollies are collected.
Choose a Package
Select 20, 40 or 60 totes based on your home, apartment, dorm, office and packing style.
Request Availability
Send your preferred package, service address, delivery date and moving information.
Confirm Your Rental
Review dates, service-area eligibility, payment procedures and the rental agreement.
We Deliver
Your clean totes and included dollies arrive at the confirmed eligible location.
Pack and Move
Label each tote, pack responsibly and use the uniform containers to organize your move.
Unpack and Stack
Remove your belongings and labels, nest the empty totes and gather all dollies.
We Pick Up
Place the rental equipment at the agreed location for collection on the scheduled date.
Step 1
Choose the tote package that matches your move
The first step is deciding how many reusable moving totes you are likely to need. Valdosta Tote Rentals offers packages of 20, 40 and 60 totes. Each package includes dollies, a two-week rental period, and free delivery and pickup for eligible addresses within 25 miles of ZIP code 31605.
The 20-tote package is often a practical starting point for a dorm room, studio apartment, one-bedroom apartment, partial household move, renovation project or smaller office. It includes one dolly and costs $99. The 40-tote package costs $169, includes two dollies and may be a better fit for a two-bedroom apartment, small home or household with more kitchenware, books, décor, toys and closet items. The 60-tote package costs $219, includes three dollies and is intended for larger local moves or customers who want more packing capacity.
Bedroom count is helpful, but it should not be the only factor. A minimalist in a two-bedroom apartment may need fewer totes than a book collector in a one-bedroom home. Think about closets, pantry items, garage shelves, children’s rooms, home offices, seasonal decorations and storage units. Totey’s Move Meter provides a quick recommendation, while the pricing page gives additional guidance for each package.
Totey’s Choosing Tip
Count the hidden spaces.
Closets, cabinets, bookshelves, garages and storage areas often contain more than expected. Include them before choosing your package.
Steps 2 and 3
Request your dates and confirm the details
After selecting a package, submit an availability request. You will provide your name, contact information, preferred package, delivery address, ZIP code and requested date. The initial website form is a request rather than an automatic confirmation. This allows the business to verify inventory, review the delivery radius and make sure the requested schedule works with existing reservations.
Once availability is reviewed, you will receive the information needed to finalize the rental. That process should confirm the package, price, number of totes, number of dollies, delivery location, pickup location, rental dates and payment procedure. You will also have the opportunity to review the rental agreement before accepting the equipment.
The standard rental period is two weeks. Your exact dates should be documented clearly so both the customer and Valdosta Tote Rentals understand when the equipment is scheduled to arrive and when it must be ready for pickup. Customers who believe they may need extra time should discuss that before the rental begins. Extensions are not automatic and depend on inventory and later reservations.
Delivery and pickup are included for confirmed addresses within 25 miles of ZIP code 31605. Customers outside that radius may contact the business to ask whether another arrangement is possible. Service beyond the included area is not guaranteed and may involve an additional fee if offered.
Have this information ready
Step 4
Receive your clean totes and dollies
On the confirmed delivery date, Valdosta Tote Rentals brings the selected package to the eligible address. The black totes with bright yellow lids arrive assembled and ready to use, eliminating the need to fold bottoms, tape seams or sort through mismatched boxes. The number of dollies depends on the chosen package: one with 20 totes, two with 40 totes and three with 60 totes.
The delivery area should be safe and accessible. Customers should make sure gates can be opened, vehicles are not blocking the agreed location, pets are secured and any stairs, narrow paths or access restrictions are discussed in advance. Someone may need to be present depending on the final delivery procedure. The confirmed reservation should explain the arrival expectations.
Before packing, look over the equipment and report any visible concerns promptly. Count the totes and dollies so the rental inventory matches the agreement. Keep lids with their matching totes, avoid dragging containers across rough surfaces and store all equipment in a secure location protected from theft, misuse and unnecessary exposure.
Delivery-day checklist
- Clear the agreed delivery area
- Secure pets and open required gates
- Count totes and dollies
- Inspect the equipment
- Confirm the pickup plan
- Keep the rental agreement available
Step 5
Pack, label and move with a simple system
Reusable totes work best when they are part of an organized packing plan. Start with items you use less often, such as seasonal decorations, books, extra linens and serving pieces. Save daily essentials, medications, important documents, chargers and first-night items for clearly labeled containers that remain easy to reach.
Label every tote by room and, when helpful, add a simple number. A tote marked “Kitchen 3” is easier to track than an unlabeled container. Keep a written or digital list of what is inside each number. Removable labels are preferred because permanent markers, paint and difficult-to-remove adhesive can damage the rental equipment.
Distribute weight responsibly. Do not fill a tote completely with books, tools, canned goods or other dense items if it will become unsafe to lift. Combine heavier objects with lighter linens or household items. Close each lid fully without forcing it over an overfilled container. Do not sit, stand or climb on the totes or dollies.
When using a dolly, place the heaviest properly closed totes at the bottom and keep the stack at a safe height. Move slowly over thresholds and uneven surfaces. A dolly reduces repeated carrying but does not remove the need for safe judgment. Customers remain responsible for lifting, loading, transportation and the protection of their property.
The totes are moisture-resistant and offer more protection than ordinary cardboard in light rain or damp conditions, but they are not presented as watertight or floodproof. Keep electronics, documents and valuables appropriately protected. Specialty items such as televisions, artwork, mirrors, mattresses and hanging garments may require separate packing materials.
Totey’s Packing Formula
- One room at a time
- Heavy items in moderation
- Every tote clearly labeled
- First-night tote kept accessible
- Safe, stable stacks only
Steps 6 and 7
Unpack, prepare the equipment and complete pickup
After the move, unpack the totes in an order that helps your new space become functional quickly. Begin with the first-night tote, basic kitchen supplies, bathroom items, bedding and work or school necessities. As each container is emptied, remove labels and check that no personal items remain inside.
Empty totes should be nested neatly rather than scattered throughout the home. Keep the yellow lids with the containers according to the provided instructions, and gather every dolly in the same pickup area. The equipment should be reasonably clean, dry and free from food, liquids, trash, pet hair, strong odors and prohibited materials.
Before pickup day, compare the equipment with the rental count. Missing totes, lids or dollies should be reported immediately. Do not wait until the pickup appointment to mention a missing or damaged item. Early communication gives the business and customer more time to understand what happened and discuss the applicable rental terms.
On the scheduled date, place the equipment at the agreed accessible location. Gates should be unlocked as arranged, pets secured and vehicles moved if they block access. If the equipment is not ready or cannot be reached, a second trip may be required and could result in a charge under the final fee schedule.
Once the rental equipment has been collected and accounted for, the move is complete—and the customer becomes an official Totey Mover. Instead of breaking down dozens of cardboard boxes, making recycling trips or storing empty boxes in a garage, the moving containers simply leave with the pickup team.

Process Questions
Frequently asked questions about how rentals work
Does submitting the website form confirm my rental?
No. The form begins an availability request. Your reservation is confirmed only after inventory, dates, service-area eligibility, payment procedures and the rental agreement have been reviewed.
May the delivery and pickup addresses be different?
They may be different if both addresses are approved in advance and fall within the service arrangement. Include both locations when requesting the rental.
Do the totes arrive already assembled?
Yes. The totes are ready to pack, so there is no box folding or bottom taping. Customers should still inspect and count the equipment at delivery.
Can I use my own labels?
Use removable labels that do not leave residue or damage the tote. Permanent marker, paint and difficult-to-remove adhesive should not be used.
What should not go inside a tote?
Do not pack hazardous materials, leaking liquids, illegal items, perishable food, flammable substances or anything likely to stain, contaminate or damage the equipment.
What happens if I finish early?
Contact Valdosta Tote Rentals. An earlier pickup may be possible depending on the delivery schedule, but it should be arranged rather than assumed.
What if I am not finished by pickup day?
Request an extension as early as possible. Extensions depend on inventory and are not guaranteed. Additional charges may apply under the final rental terms.
Do you move my furniture or load the truck?
No. The standard service is rental, delivery and pickup of the totes and dollies. Customers arrange their own labor, transportation and specialty moving services.
